A full haircut is quoted at 3 hours. If your dog is a large or extra-large breed getting a full haircut/trim or you are requesting a show/breed cut for breeds such as poodles or schnauzers, it can take between 3 and 5 hours depending on coat condition and size of dog.

Baths generally take 2 to 3 hours.

Animals can be unpredictable and exact groom times cannot be determined. We will make every effort to inform you via text or phone call 30 minutes before your pet is done with their spa day.

If you have a specific pick up time request, please let us know at booking.

All pets must be picked up by close of business. Keep in mind, your pet will be kenneled after their groom for their safety and protection. We are unable to provide walks.

How often should I groom my pet?

Depending on the coat length, type, and cut of your pet, you should aim for every 4-6 weeks for a full groom.

Bath dogs with short or no haircut can generally go about 6 weeks.

When should I begin the grooming process with my new puppy?

When you first bring your new dog home, introduce it to regular grooming movements.

Use an appropriate brush or comb regularly. Don’t worry about brushing their entire coat in one go unless they can tolerate it. Reward calm grooming behavior with treats or cuddles.

Gently grasp their paws and wiggle them slightly to get them used to nail trim movements.

Bring your puppy in after their first round of shots, generally about 3 to 4 months old, to get them accustomed to the salon and process. Full haircuts are not generally performed on young puppies until they are used to the process.

Pricing varies on breed/temperament/Coat Condition. An exact cost cannot be determined until your dog is seen in person. A Lhasa Apso requires more time and care than a long hair Dachsund.

For pricing questions, please e-mail us at goldgroomingmn@gmail.com with a photo and information about your pet such as age, length preference, and approximate grooming schedule. All quotes are base starting until dog is seen in person.
